Orca 2.0 replaces Orca 1.x. It runs your agents through the OpenAI Agents API at https://api.orcapods.ai/v1, with the official openai packages, the dashboard, and CLI 1.0. This page says what carried over, what you need to do, and how to rebuild an agent you saved from Orca 1.x.

What carried over

  • Your account and organization. You sign in to the dashboard at app.orcapods.ai as before.
  • Your balance and your plan. Your Orca credit balance and your Free, Pro, or Max plan are the same. A negative balance starts at zero. See plans and wallet.
  • Okik’s kit links. Okik’s own kits are coming soon under their existing links. Until each one is published, its link says “This kit is coming soon”. You can also make and publish your own kits.
Your own agents, skills, memory, and files were not carried over. Rebuild them as described below.

What you need to do

  1. Create new API keys. Keys from Orca 1.x do not work on Orca 2.0. Create new ones in the dashboard under Settings, API keys, and replace them wherever you use them. New keys start with orca_sk_.
  2. Update the CLI. Run orca update to get CLI 1.0, then orca login. An older CLI is told “This CLI is too old for Orca. Run orca update.” See install and sign in.
  3. Move your code to the Agents API. Point the official openai package at https://api.orcapods.ai/v1. There is no Orca SDK. Start with the quickstart.
  4. Rebuild your agents and skills from what you saved, or ask us for an export.

What changed

What ended

These are not part of Orca 2.0:
  • Runtimes. Every agent runs on one harness; you choose only the model.
  • Pods. Use one agent with subagents.
  • Memory banks and pod files. Keep that content outside Orca. To give an agent files, upload them and stage them into its sandbox, or put fixed reference material in a skill.
  • Prompts and contexts (the prompts library). Put the text in the agent’s instructions or in a skill.
  • Workflows.
  • Connected apps.
  • Published agents, public and embedded chat, and the chat gateway API (chat.orcapods.ai). Call your agent from your own backend with the Agents API instead.
Schedules are coming soon to Orca. Until then, start a session from your own scheduler with the API or orca chat.

Rebuild an agent

If you saved your agents with CLI 0.9 before the switch, you have one JSON file per agent from orca agents get <agent-name> --json. It looks like this:
Map each field to the new agent: Write the new agent as a file:
Then create it with the CLI, the dashboard, or the API:
The model is checked when you save. If the name is wrong, the message says what to use instead. See models and provider keys.

Rebuild a skill

If you saved a skill with CLI 0.9 (orca skills get <skill-name> --json, and orca skills get <skill-name> --resource <path> for each file), rebuild it as a folder:
  1. Make a folder named after the skill, with letters, digits, _ and - only.
  2. Write SKILL.md in it: front matter with the skill’s name and description, then the saved body. If the body already starts with front matter, keep it as it is.
  3. Put each saved resource file at its path inside the folder.
  4. Upload it with orca skills create <folder>, or as a zip with the API. See skills and templates.

Ask for an export

If you did not save something, write to support@okik.io from the email address you use with Orca. We send back your organization’s agent definitions (name, runtime, model, system prompt, and tool and MCP server names) and skills, and, if you ask, memory and workspace files. Secrets are never exported. An export of the whole organization needs an owner or admin of it on Orca 1.x. Orca 1.x data is kept for at least six months from 7 October 2026. Links to the Orca 1.x documentation lead to the closest page here. Pages for features that ended lead to this page.
